Prepare for the Resumption of Public Masses

Churches up and down the country are gearing up for their doors to reopen. Initially, this will only be for private prayer. However, when public Masses resume, we will not be able to hand out Missalettes with the texts of the Mass on them.

However – The Catholic Truth Society has a fantastic offer, where you can buy this year’s Missal for just £1! This will allow you to follow the Mass texts in both English and Latin.

Order one today so that you are prepared for when we can finally resume public Masses.

Lockdown Quarant’Ore & Corpus Christi

This year, the celebrations of our Titular Feast will be vastly scaled back, though we will try to stick to the traditional format as much as we can. There will be a constant stream of Forty Hours on our website at and the Masses will also be streamed on our Facebook page.

This is only a provisional outline and is subject to change, depending on the changing Government advice and guidelines. Please keep checking our website for updates*.

On Thursday 11th June at 7:00pm, there will be Low Mass of Corpus Christi in the Extraordinary Form, which will open Forty Hours. The Blessed Sacrament will be exposed until Midnight.

On Friday 12th June, the Blessed Sacrament will be exposed from 7am until Midnight. There will be a Mass for the end of the Pandemic at 12 noon and a led Holy Hour at 5pm.

On Saturday 13th June, the Blessed Sacrament will be exposed again at 7am. There will be a led Holy Hour at 5pm, which will be followed by the Vigil Mass of Corpus Christi, closing Forty Hours at 6pm.

On Sunday 14th June at 11am, there will be Mass of Corpus Christi in the Ordinary Form and a led Holy Hour with Vespers at 5pm.

Your Prayers at Forty Hours

Unfortunately, you are unable to participate in the Corpus Christi celebrations with us in person this year. However, you can unite your prayers with us here at the Shrine, by either having a seven-day lamp burning in front of the Blessed Sacrament for your intentions, or by submitting your prayers for us to offer on your behalf.

Visit to submit your intentions.

* If the Government allows churches to open

If the Government allows churches to open before the 11th June, it will initially be for individual private prayer only. We will not be able to offer Exposition or public Mass, or allow any form of public prayer, such as group rosaries. Therefore, we will open our doors for a limited time during the day, and the Blessed Sacrament will have to be reposed whilst the church is open. Exposition will continue once the doors are closed, and will be live streamed.
