Shrine to Blessed Carlo Acutis

Update: Thanks to the kindness and generosity of so many people, we have now reached our target. Thank you!

Last year, His Eminence Cardinal Nichols presented the Shrine with a First Class relic of Blessed Carlo Acutis. Since then, we have had many visitors to the Shrine who have come specifically to venerate the relic and to ask for Bl Carlo’s intercession for various needs.

There is a great need for heavenly assistance of this remarkable – and indeed Eucharistic – beatus, especially as his cause for canonisation progresses (to find out more about Bl Carlo Acutis, see the video at the bottom of this page). The relic at present remains locked away and is only accessible upon request.

We have therefore applied for, and received, permission to commission a Shrine of Bl Carlo, to be mounted in the Lady Chapel, which would hold the relic and would allow you to venerate and pray before the Relic.

The reliquary Shrine will be carved by Ferdinand Stuflesser in Italy, who also carved the statues of St Anthony, Our Lady of Walsingham, Padre Pio and St Jean Vianney, which can all be found around the Shrine. The final image will be carved as a relief, with Carlo emerging through the arch. He is holding in his hands a laptop, upon which is stood a ciborium, as a reminder of the website he created documenting Eucharistic miracles around the world. Beneath this will be a secure window for the relic to be displayed for veneration.

We were looking to raise £7000 to cover the costs of having this relief carved, shipped and installed and are asking for your generous donations towards this.

The names of benefactors will be included on an inscription at the rear of the Shrine, and a monthly Mass – usually on the second Thursday of the month – will be offered for their intentions.

Through the generosity and kindness of so many people, we have reached our target, and work has begun on the design and realisation of this Shrine. There are more projects coming during the course of this year, so if you would still like to make a gift to Corpus Christi, please be in touch to find out which other areas you may be able to support. Thank you!

Thank you for your generosity.
